Yasya's explanation of her project: "The inspiration came from the works of Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt, which I saw at a museum in Potsdam. The expressiveness and graphic quality of her pieces left me no choice but to turn them into an ornamental embroidery motif — replacing archaic symbolism with the word as a call to action. For this drop, I used the phrase “Хай цвіте Україна” (“May Ukraine Bloom”) as a kind of spell for prosperity and well-being — a verbal ritual that works as a protective charm (especially from the neighbors).

Хочу поділитися ідеєю, що стоїть за цим принтом. Натхнення прийшло від робіт Рут Вольф-Рефельдт, які я побачила в музеї в Потсдамі. Виразність і графічність її творів не залишили мені вибору — я перетворила їх на орнаментальний мотив вишивки, замінивши архаїчну символіку словом як закликом до дії. Для цього дропу я використала фразу «Хай цвіте Україна» як своєрідний оберіг на добробут і процвітання — словесний ритуал, що працює як захист (особливо від сусідів)."

Witty and smart storyteller, the now iconic brand was established in 2011 by a young designer Yasia Khomenko. The brand has since had great success producing sophisticated and original clothes while aligning itself with a strong ecological manifesto. Nothing is being wasted in the production process, even the leftover scraps are being reused in creation of new designs. Since its establishment the brand has developed a significant following and made RCR KHOMENKO’s prints become recognizable and a synonym for fun all around Ukraine.
