26 Ornament

As usual in all suprematist compositions, the concepts of "up" or "down" are absent because the space within the artwork is independent of the physical world. Even gravity is not a law for him. Yet, this enclosed geometric world looks harmonious.

Suprematism was an art movement founded by Ukrainian artist Kazimir Malevych in 1915, which focused on the "supremacy of pure artistic feeling" through abstract geometric forms like squares, circles, and lines. It was one of the earliest movements to achieve total abstraction by rejecting representational imagery and aiming to create a new visual language based on fundamental geometric shapes and bold colors against a white background. Key works include Malevych's Black Square and White on White.
